Protein Donuts 🍩
Who said donuts couldn’t be healthy? Adding protein to your diet, just got more delicious! Follow my easy recipe below to make these decadent donuts for yourself!
What you’ll need to make them:
(Dry Ingredients)
I 1/2 cups almond flour
1 Tbsp coconut flour
1/4 cup gardenoflife chocolate protein powder
1/4 cup cacao powder
1/2 Tsp xanthum gum
3 Tsp baking powder
1 Tsp baking soda
1/2 Tsp sea salt
(Wet Ingredients)
4 eggs (room temp)
1/2 cup almond milk
2 Tsp vanilla extract
4 Tbsp melted coconut oil
1/2 cup swervesweetie confectioners sugar
What to do: combine all the dry ingredients & mix until well combined. Then combine all the wet ingredients & mix on high for 1 minute. Then slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients & mix until well combined.
Transfer batter evenly into a greased silicone donut pan (these work much better than a metal pan, and they won’t stick).
Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. The batter should make 10 large donuts.
Once the donuts have cooled, add the chocolate frosting. To make the frosting you’ll need 1/2 cup of melted coconut butter & 2 Tbsp of cacao powder. Mix the two together until the frosting has formed.
Drizzle the chocolate frosting all over the donuts & add your favorite toppings like sprinkles or pecans on top of them while the chocolate is still liquid. Then, let the chocolate harden, and enjoy!
